A New Song about those big ol’ Prairie Grain Elevators

Grain Elevator

I’ve just released “More than Two by Fours and Timber” – my new song about prairie grain elevators and what they’ve come to mean. Take a few minutes and have a listen – I really hope you like it.
I’ve always loved these big majestic structures that dot the prairies. At their peak in Saskatchewan there were 1800+ of them and today there are less than 275. Fewer and fewer, they have the ability to have you pull the car over and snap a photo. For this song I set the scene imagining one on its last day before demolition: “It used to mean from a distance you were heading somewhere when heading here…now more than the last grain elevator was disappearing”. I’d love to know what you think of it
